Arisugawa Park

Good day everybody! The weather was just so bright and shiny. First thing in the morning, our teachers set up the table early for our  snack time. They mentioned that we are going to the park in the morning. This  got us excited  and we’re pretty much happy about it. We finished our jobs quicker than usual and  this excitement got us moving a lot more.

Journey to Arisugawa Park

It was a good journey but long. Some of our friends were so “genki” (full of energy in English). We sang and talked about what we saw around the neighborhood. One of our friends said  that we should be quiet because it’s a quiet neighborhood and we all did just that.

We saw some children from other schools as well and we waved hello so that we could have a wonderful day with everyone at the park. When we arrived, we saw that it was quite big. It’s bigger than Step park and Robot park. We couldn’t imagine how huge it was that it got us even more thrilled on what we’re going to do. Chiaki led us to a grassy place where we could find some dried leaves and twigs. We helped her out as much as possible because we wanted to get more branches for our classroom. Our teachers told us that we’re going to do another special project that all of us will enjoy. Chiaki took a big bag and there we put all of our collected materials today. Thank you Chiaki for helping us out always.

We stayed at the center area of the park and we found children from other schools. They were also very energetic and most of us were trying to reach out and play with them.

We sat down under a big tree but we noticed that the tree was empty of leaves. All the leaves were on the ground and we’ve realized that it’s winter and leaves always fall to the ground. There was also a story that John told us to explore by touching and feeling the branches we have collected.

On the way back to school, it also another journey and  we tried to explore the neighborhood again. Some of our friends were tired and they wanted to come back as soon as possible but they still kept on pushing and accomplished a big task today. We are so proud of Buds children and the journey that they undertook!

Table activities

We continued on with our house art today and painted the other side this time. Our friends were very patient in filling it up with lots of colors and at the end of the activity, we almost  covered the entire thing with paint. Some of us were also interested in threading and lacing up the punched boards we had on the table. It was a great activity for our little hands and practice what we can.

Kitchen galore

The kitchen area was also packed with little chefs and most of us were very engaged in making lots of food for our friends. Sayaka-sensei (Petals teacher) came to our school for two days and she  helped us out with this activity. It was really good to play with her and to experience teachers in the classroom.

Earthquake Drill

We also did the earthquake drill in the classroom and all of us went under the table and put on our h

Thank you so much Ohana for another beautiful day and see you all again tomorrow.

Lots of love,
